Exclamation Front Wheel Bearing Replacement on 1995 Ford F150

Hey guys, long time no post but I'm in a hell of a predicament here, been getting my butt kicked for about a week now with this truck.

My inner wheel bearing blew last Friday, so I have had the truck down since. On Monday I went and got a new wheel bearing and all the things to do it, then found out when the wheel bearing went it took the hub assembly with it. (I had to drive it back home about 10 miles) so I ordered one and waited for it to arrive. When I got it, it turned out that Ford split that year and the one that was bought from Advance Auto Parts was for after 5/95, but my truck was made in 2/95. So I took it back and turned out I had to order the right one from NAPA. I now have it, have the bearings installed and everything ready to go but I can't get the damn thing to go back on the shaft the way it is supposed to. I feel like I'm an idiot and missing something but just can't figure it out. This is my first time doing this kind of repair on any vehicle. (I've done numerous other repairs including rebuilding a whole truck, but never had the wheel bearings blow out like this.) So any ideas?

Update mid post, a friend of mine suggested the old wheel bearing assembly may still be stuck on there? I'm not sure and before I go cutting the damn thing (cause its seized on there really good), I want to be sure thats my problem.

Pictures included. THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!

Not to follow up a question with a question, but what was your method for getting the spindle off the knuckle? I've gotta do my ball joints soon and I cannot for the life of me get the thing off.

Also, apologies to follow up with another question, but what makes that spindle toast? (trying to learn more)

I just came back inside. spindle wasnt toast. it was the inner racer from the wheel bearing seized on just like a friend thought. had to cut it off carefully with a cut off tool. cleaned the shaft and it looks brand new. no problems. just put it all back together and only problem now is the *@!#$% brake pad metal plate bent while trying to put it back together. so now i have to wait till tomorrow to go to the autoparts store for new brakes.

westynaut92 i didnt take the spindle off the knuckle. if your doing ball joints all you have to do is get the spindle lock nut off and the whole hub assembly comes off. *youll have to take the 4 wheel drive hubs and internal workings to get to the lock nut. mine needed this: AutoCraft 2-3/8" 4 Lug Spindle Nut Wrench AC677: Advance Auto Parts

TO THE OP: It looks like your friend is right, the race from the inner wheel bearing is stuck on there. To remove the race I would grind the outside of the race down some with about a 4 inch grinder enough where I could crack it with a cold chisel.

It's hard to say from here just how much damage there is to the spindle just to the inside of the threads, as to whether it is unsafe to use.

Edited to say I was typing and looking at the pictures as the OP posted the last post.

No, I see the inner part of the bearing, but the area where the outer bearing rides looks to be fairly pitted. Can you use it, yes. Would I run it for very long, doubtful. good luck
