Clutch push rod bearing

I have a 96 F150 Manual 4x4. In the last year, I have had to replace the clutch push rod bushing 2. I am using Dorman Help! 14041 kit to do it, but they seem to wear out quickly, in fact the last one I put on today, and it broke within 30 miles. I am not a hard clutcher, I don't let it slap back to engaged, and I dont stomp it to the floor. What is going on? and is there anything I can do to make them last longer?

I thought you meant the throwout bearing. I googled it and found out what you were talking about. I replaced those in my '88 F-150 with genuine Ford parts and had no problem with them. I would try a Ford part(s).

Sounds like it ran without a bushing for a while and the **** is worn out which would cause the bushing to die again. Might require a new clutch pedal or at least some custom work to create a new **** for which the bushing can be installed. I've also heard of people machining a brass bushing instead of the plastic.

See pic: Which bushing are you referring to, the one on the clutch master cylinder rod (7526) where it connects to the clutch pedal bellcrank (7A554)? Or?

x2 ... you need to get under there are inspect the **** that the bushing sits on. i would bet that the firewall side of it is worn and if you dont fix it you will chew through those bushings faster and faster.

Thank you all for your help! The pin coming from the bracket is worn, and that is what is chewing on the bushings.

I have found a repair for this that includes a heim joint replacement for the bushing/rod joint. Anybody know a good place to get a heim end with a set screw that would work for this? I could get off of ebay, but would like to have it sooner.
