Tips for buying a Bronco
I bought a late model Ranger this summer and really like it, even more so that I had hoped.
I have always like the look/size of the BII and thinking about getting one as a second vehicle.'
Are any years better than others? About what should I pay?
I don't care about having a lot of power- if anything, I prefer reliability over power.
What are problem areas I should look for?
Any other advice?
Thanks!

1986 and later have the updated (and better) 2.9L fuel injected engine. Auto transmission was bad in late 80's, The Ranger Station Tech Page can tell you what year the auto trans got better. Other than that the B2's run was too short to have many mechanical variations. Look for rust above all else, especially at the leaf spring rear shackles and firewall. Price varies greatly with anything this vintage: $800 up to around $8,000 are your 2 extremes.
