horn parts ?
you got any pics of your merc...would love to see them. I have a 49.
as far as the horn goes the plate is a round metal disc that is concave. the contact button and wire go through the middle of it ad the horm button over it. To remove th horm button, you have to twist it counter-clockwise
If you have no return pressure on it chances are that the disc has flattened out.

horn parts ?
thanks ron. i cannot believe that after all these years I never saw these. lastnight I went back to the owners manual and sure as day there they where above the parking lights.
I think your right, that were dead trying to find them. They would have to be custom made or fashioned from the hoods rails. Off the cuff another alternative would be to use side molding from another vehicle that would match the hood rails.
The parking lights where left out becasue I just didnt like the way they looked, the rails on the other hand look very cool.

Miami....Like idiots we drove it down here from billington, canada...north of seattle...through the cascades, desert, etc.... Actually became very familiar with the braking system on the mountains.
We stayed at a friends farm up there and found the truck sitting in the barn covered in hay and tools. Learned it was his fathers for around the farm. Some where around 1965/70 he came down with cadaracs and quit driving it. They also had a knuckle head harley that our other buddy bought and returned with us in the bed.
