Mystery no-start
Good Morning guys!
A miracle has happened! My big old Bronco has found it's way back to me. I sold it almost 3 years ago, and bought it back a few weeks ago. However, the whole time I've had it back, it hasn't run.
It's a 1986, 5.0 FI.
An engine needs 3 things to run; Air, spark, fuel. I have all 3 of these things.
I have ample fuel pressure, all injectors are firing fine. I have spark at all 8 plugs (which I just replaced) and I have it timed to 10* BTDC, as well as I can at least, by finding TDC and playing with the distributor so the rotor is about to hit cylinder 1.
Not only does it not run, but it doesn't even try to fire. Not even a little. It cranks just fine with no clanking or grinding. After cranking for a minute and pulling the plugs, they're wet and smell like fuel. Like I said, they're all sparking too. Introducing starting fluid also yields no difference at all.
Next on the agenda is a compression test, but it's 7 damn degrees outside, so that's a task for another day.
Does anyone have any ideas that I might be missing?
Thanks in advance!
