Don't get me wrong I Love the 460....But it sucks fuel like somebody;s sister

Yeah, I was hoping this had a diesel. My other ambulances do. WTH do you do with those vans? Do they look like sleepers?

No, I did find the guy at Exxon who took the pics and he sent me a couple of more. Check out that interior!

You could make a nice bug-out van out of it.

Never heard the term "bug-out van," but my plan would be to use it as a camper, if that's the same thing.

Me and my brother are still waffling on going up there to look at it. We think we could get all our money back by selling that siren, lol, and have a free camper if its drives well enough to keep.

I'm glad to see you say you have judgment. Very assuring.

I hate commie cars ....You realize I live in Canada ....right ....Just to drive it to my house would cost thousands....But I do appreciate the offer...I can get 6.0 Diesel Ambo's like you have but they are 2005 and up for 3-5 large all day...just down the street from my house....But they are the 6.0 ..so double that cost in parts alone to make it reliable...
God luck in whatever you decide ....

Thank you, sir. I was being facetious. And yes, I know newer ambulances are avail - I own two and paid less than $3k for both of them. For what I paid for this one though, it's no risk. I expect I can sell that cool siren for what I paid for it. I can haul it to the scrapyard and get my money back. But, if it runs fine, and from talking to the seller, it does, I should get more. If not, I'm happy keeping it for a camper. Just thought some people here might appreciate a classic Ford van with almost no miles.

Ok.. I kidna figured that ...but at least we are on the same page...the ones you want for campers...are the Jail Vans ....
they are all aluminium and except for the PC ( Protective custody ) deal in the rear...they are much better ...they don't have the wiring nightmare of the Ambo's and they are ussually Dana 80's full float 4:11 .......

Never seen one of the jail vans at the auctions, sound interesting. Still, what I like are ones with low mileage. Most of these ambulances have a ton of engine hours - even if not mileage, they sit and idle a lot. The first one I bought was a Red Cross van that only had 40k. The second one does have 120k, but it was cheap. This one has almost none.
