√ ROUGH IDLE – 4.9L – NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES (DTCS) STORED IN MEMORY – F-SERIES AND ECONOLINE BUILT THROUGH 3/16/95 AND BRINCO BUILT THROUGH 7/1/92.
√ STALL – 4.9L – AFTER START-UP - NO DIAGNOSTIC CODES (DTCS) STORED IN MEMORY – F-SERIES AND ECONOLINE BUILT THROUGH 3/16/95 AND BRONCO BUILT THROUGH 7/1/92.
√ ENGINE – 4.9L – ROUGH IDLE, HESITATION, OR STALL - F-SERIES AND ECONOLINE BUILT THROUGH 3/16/95 AND BRONCO BUILT THROUGH 7/1/92.
LIGHT TRUCK:
1987-92 BRONCO
1987-95 ECONOLINE, F-150-350 SERIES
ISSUE:
A ROUGH IDLE, HESITATION ON ACCELERATION, AND/OR STALL AFTER START-UP WITH NO DTC’S PRESENT MAY OCCUR ON SOME VEHICLES. THIS CONCERN IS NOTED AT ODOMETER READING GREATER THAN 48,280 KM (30,000 MILES). THIS MAY BE CAUSED BY THE THROTTLE BODY GASKET LEAKING, RESULTING IN INTERNAL THROTTLE BODY AIR PASSAGE DUE TO VACUUM.
POSSIBLE FIX/SOLUTION: REPLACE THROTTLE BODY GASKET. I GOT MY REPLACEMENT GASKET FROM ADVANCE AUTO PARTS FOR $2.11. REPLACEMENT PART MADE BY FEL-PRO.
