2006 oil cooler seal kit
Good evening all. I tried to find some posts on this subject I could not find what I was looking for. The issue is, there is a coolant leak that has been traced to the oil cooler plate. So far it has been determined it is only leaking to the exterior of the cooler plate, draining down around the starter. There is no sign of coolant in the oil. Both the oil and the coolant look normal.
Some background: 2006PS. At about 40k miles I installed a coolant filter and an Amsoil bypass oil filter (and Amsoil synthetic oil) first and then a Franz oil filter later so I am currently running both. Wish I had done the Frantz first (and only the Frantz). At about that time, I installed the Banks Big Hoss bundle. I have 93k miles on the clock as I have access to other vehicles.
It does throw white smoke until it reaches around 165°F and then it stops smoking completely. Even in the hottest months, the engine temperature seldom goes over 200° and the max difference between the engine vs. oil temps I have seen is 9°. Most of the time it is about 5° difference. The display provided with the Banks unit sure comes in handy to monitor this data.
What I am getting at is, I believe my oil cooler is ok and I only need to get the seal / gasket kit. There is a Ford kit on e-bay for $72, without the screen:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-0L-Powerstroke-Diesel-OEM-Ford-Oil-Cooler-Gasket-Kit-F250-F350-F450-F550-E350-/231274403691?&_trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276
And a $26 one with the screen:

The $26 one is too good to be true more than likely, not worth the risk. Is the screen sold separately?
Any words of wisdom? Pitfalls? Recommendations on possible ways to resolve this issue? I would do the work myself. I did the egr delete last year. Should have addressed the oil cooler but did not. Thanks.
