Power Distribution Box fuse question.

Hi guys new here and had a questions about a specific fuse (resistor so the manual calls it) in the power distribution box under the hood. Its a 2002 XLT 2.3l ranger. Fuse 43. There was a 15 amp fuse in its location and honestly i don't recall if i did that or if its been there since i have owned the truck. What is it for? Is it even needed? Thanks!

FWIW, the owners manual for my 2004 4.0L identifies 43 as "Not Used". Check your own manual for your year.
