Question for the gun guys...

I carry on my hip as well. If I am traveling with a hunting rifle or with multiple firearms to the range, I carry them in cases on the back seat.
If you have to move your ccw to drive for access or comfort or whatever, you are not carrying the right pistol/holster/position/etc... Im 6ft7 330#, I fill the drivers seat of my truck. I can still drive all day and draw my ccw comfortably with my seat belt on.
I went through multiple pistols and multiple shoe boxes full of holsters before I found my favorite ccw. kahr pm9 in a desantis softuck in appendix carry.

I carry on my hip. I have a holster just under the steering wheel where my gun rides nice. I also keep a loaded shotgun and rifle in the truck either front or back seat during hunting season. Uncased ready to shoot. No one has ever said a word to me. But then again I live in the green swamp we are all carrying guns of some type.

I always get a cheap paddle holster for most of my guns to just leave in the vehicle. If it's not on my hip it rides right here.
I've always considered one of these also. https://cdn2.bigcommerce.com/server5...0.1280.jpg?c=2

Right hip and have no problems with the seat belt.
The trick is finding the right holster that will do the job.
The long guns go on the back seat or the back floor if they are
also making a trip out to play.
BTW here is some of the fun stuff from the Washington State law books.
RCW 9.41.050

See RCW 9.41.050: Carrying firearms.
Enjoy. You can find the aspirin in the medicine cabinet if that makes you head hurt.
Nothing more fun that reading state and fed laws.

Nailed it. When I first took my permit class the instructor said I would end up with a bucket of holsters. I didn't believe him. Turns out I have a bucket full of holsters but I have a few that I use when I carry. The right holster makes all the difference in the world.

I have a magnet installed on the inside of my console. The gun is held in place by the magnet. The magnet is covered in leather so it will not hurt the gun's finish. It also holds the gun firmly in place. I position the gun so it is easy for me to get to . There is a company that makes the magnet, but I don't remember their contact.

two options that i think of, 1 if you have a center console install a holster between the drivers seat and the outside of the console that is comfortable for you and legal for your state. 2, search the net for a company that makes holsters that attach underneath the steering column, can't be seen by looking in the window
