Are These NOS or Repop Fender Emblems

I recently purchased these XLT fender emblems from a reputable seller on eBay that typically sells only original parts. They are listed as NOS and being Ford parts. I noticed a couple things that don't look correct and am wondering if they are reproduction pieces. The red lettering is recessed and painted rather than being a separate piece of red plastic that is molded to sit flush with the face of the emblem. Also, it does not have guide pins on the back which I believe the originals do. So, are these something Ford made or are they knockoffs?

Not sure if aftermarket or not but the design is for the the obs style. I first thought it was the 97+ style but stand corrected. The originals do have the two tab posts on the backsides.

Aftermarket. If stock, they would have posts.

The XLT on my stock is a solid piece of red plastic on backside

I didn't say it was NOS, all I said was that Carpenter has this emblem @ $74.95 each and that it's still available from Ford @ $48.38 each.

They certainly didn't look NOS to me. I'm wondering if they are actually those reproductions from Dennis Carpenter. They appear to look the same as those. They did not come is a Ford bag. It was just a thin clear wrapper.

How much did you pay for the emblems?

If interested, I can give you several Ford dealer sources that have these emblems in stock. You could call and ask for a description of the back side.

You would be surprised at the parts from D.C. that came from the Ford dealer. Some I've looked at there were in Ford packaging (which I then went and bought from a dealer). Their parts are same as came from Ford since they have original tooling but they are pricey! Get what you pay for though.

They didn't come from Ford dealers, they came directly from FoMoCo.

Some people will believe anything, like Carpenter's "original tooling" wheeze.

All it takes to make a repro part is an original part...that was made from original tooling.

Carpenter made "a deal" with FoMoCo, is buying parts directly from them that they have obsoleted.

Here's an example: Carpenter has 1,697 of C9TZ-13341-C T/S switch. These were available from Ford until about two years ago.

Then it was obsoleted and within a few months, they showed up on partsvoice.com and rearcounter.com as Carpenter had bought all of them.
