if you changed your injectors - how many miles?

I have my vavle covers off on my 6.4l with 87k miles right now nd will be replacing all rocker arms due to tip wear.

so im looking at the injectors and saying....I have the oring that came with the 1 time use lines I bought since the manifold and lines have to come out.....should I pull the injecotrs to inspect them....with 87k on the motor should I just replace the injectors while I am at it?

my luck would be such that I dont do anything with the injectors and 10k or 20k down the road one goes out.

any one have any leassons learned about injectors?

thanks

Waste of money unless you are replacing one that failed imo

your 6.0 has oil pressurized injectors and yes, those are very reliable.

the 6.4 has fuel pressurized injectors and that couple with the poor lube value of #2 diesel has resulted in numerous cases of injectors stuck open and torching holes in pistons.

there are reman injectors going for 200 each which are basically just cleaned and tested used injectors. ford sells reman injectors for 300 each which have all electrical and mechanical replaced.

so need to hear more from the 6.4 crowd which have the fuel pressurized injectors.

Well aware of the differences. At the rate you're going it won't be fine until next winter anyway. Still a waste of money...

definitely no rush on my part. Im a disabled Vet and am basically good for 4 hours of auto mechanic work at a time. work an hour...hurt for 4.

there are some that would say replacing rocker tips are a waste of time...until the ball falls out and the rocker lays on the floor.
