'49 F4 disc brake conversion update

I temporarily added a vacuum reservoir to my truck from a '71 F600 U-Haul truck that I parted out. I was concerned that the factory vacuum pump on the Mercedes diesel wasn't large enough to do the job. When I checked it a couple of months ago, I had about 8" of vacuum at an idle and maybe 15" max at higher RPM. Today I found a line fitting on the pump that I hadn't tightened. Now at an idle it will take the reservoir and vacuum system from 0" to 22" in about 45 seconds. I took the truck for a test drive and the brakes are very good. It will lock up all the wheels and slide to a straight stop on pavement. I am very pleased with the brakes.
Thanks, Mark

Good catch, and congrats on the conversion, that was quite a project in itself!

Thanks, Ross. I really appreciate all the help and encouragement I have received on this forum. I should have caught the loose fitting sooner, as everything on the car that I took the engine out of, operates by vacuum and it always worked flawlessly.
