Need input, im a die hard ford man but chevy is my 2nd.
I recently bought a 1987 F250 single cab long bed, the 351 was blown, but everything else was almost perfect, C6 trans, Dana 70 rear end with 4.10 gears and a locker, I had a few 5.0s to swap with the Windsor, but decided to buy another 302. This next part is blasphemy to most fellow Ford enthusiasts, almost the entire firing and charging system is custom fabbed Chevy parts, Chevy s10 alternator, Chevy high performance racing distributor (swapped the gear on the bottom with a Fords), etc. It has a Weiand street warrior aluminum intake, Holley 750cfm 4 barrel, all that fun stuff, my question I'm trying to get to is, I need the best but affordable exhaust system, a reliable way to make it use an electric external fuel pump and how to make it use the return line, and not to brag because in reality it's not a beast, but it's by far the best 5.0 302 I've had yet so I'm nervous about this build. Any ideas or helpful insights as to what exhaust and fuel system I need? Thanks

I didn't believe it had a Dana myself, the owner before me had it put in. And in doing the engine swap, it went from set up for a mechanical fuel pump, to now an external one, is there any way to hook up the electric pump and still be able to use the return line? And thanks for the advice!

It's a Frankenstein lol so many different things, the way this one is, it has 2 fuel lines that run from the tanks all the way up to the engine bay on the right side of the engine, the 351 had a block mounted pump, the 302 I swapped it out with isn't set up for the block mounted style. It was originally a EFI 90s mustang police motor, then it was turned into a propane engine, and I just converted it to carb. I'm agreeing with you 100% buddy I'm just confused as all get out. The truck is 90% ready and this and the exhaust is holding me up. I'm currently in college to be an automotive technician, I'm great with suspension, brakes, rebuilds, etc. But would you think I should just change the whole fuel delivery (new line or lines, mount the pump near the tank instead of by the block etc)

i would get a low pressure fuel pump(around 7 lbs) and mount it up near the engine with a low oil pressure shut off switch, and just run the suction line from the tank, and block off the return line.
have the fuel pump wired through the low pressure shut off switch so if something happens the fuel pump shuts off if the engine looses oil pressure. then also have the pump wired to power when the key is in start position and shut off on that wire when key returns to run.
this will enable the pump to run when trying to start the engine. then once it starts the oil pressure switch will power the fuel pump to keep the engine running.
