Ok so my truck has been down for almost a year. No one could figure out what was wrong, guess it needs a motor. Bought a take out motor and need to find a decent shop that can do the swap for me in my area. Any suggestions? Currently at the dealer in Dixon but I don't think they want to do the swap as I call them and the service guy won't return my calls. Let me know if you guys have any suggestions thanks

Maybe take a step back and assess. A year downtime tells me it is likely you do not need the truck and should cut your losses. You know your needs better than me. Maybe now you need the truck. Not here to second guess.
Wondering the process of diagnosing a bad motor. What shops could not figure out the problem for a whole year? Dare I ask who was looking at it? There are millions of these trucks on the road.
And if the motor altogether is bad, I have to disagree with paying the labor for this job just to take a chance on a used motor. When looking at expense, think long term. A competent reman is a much better choice.
What was the truck doing when it took a nose dive a year ago?
