Starter fully engages when I bump it manually

That little white box? The guy I bought it from said he replaced that part and I assume it's a cheapy from auto zone on account of there isn't Ford markings

John asked me about this the other day and I did not know that you had come onto FTE .
When I get back from the thing I have to do today I'll post you the diagrams.


One other test to do on the heavy cables would be a Voltage Drop test.
A cable can look good and still be bad under the insulation. They will even
read ok with a meter but get some high current flowing and then they crap
out on you.


BTW this will also work through a relay to test it.

I'm wondering if his little white box is the gem module. Can you post a pic of said white box

Does this truck have an alarm??

yes truck has an alarm ill need a sec to post the pic but all i know is when i unplug the white box everything dies. no power at all i think just the cab lights work

Are we talking about the top white box of the lower on on the brake peddle?

Here are some diagrams for some of the systems that might be a cause.
Take a look and let me know if you need others and if you have an idea
what ones.
Also if you look at the diagrams and see the Cxxxx number for a connector and
give me that number I can post the connector face with the pin numbers and
wire colors.

it is the top white box not the pedal. I get a number for you. its at complete no crank now. check engine light wont even blink like before

yea i have no clue what to look for i dont see ignition on the diagram its kinda confusing to look at these diagrams haha relays are getting power to them i hear the starter relay in the fuse box clicking when i go to start and i can feel the pcm relay click when i turn the key

That top whit box is the ignition plug switch connector.
Here is the connector and pin # and colors.

so ya i feel like an idiot.... the white box is the ignition switch. it is a motorcraft one. so ya not that...

its gotta be a wire between the pcm and main fuse box

so it started up today ran for a sec then died then ran for a minute the died sounded rough w/ misfire. could i have a sticking injector shorting out the system?
