Ford E350 7.5l RV

Hello all, I'm currently on the side of the road in my Ford chassis RV. It was adjusted in higher altitude (floats, carb) but when going from Flaggstaff to Pheonix it backfired several times and cut off when driving. It will start, but cuts off as soon as it goes into gear (reverse,drive,1,2) ...I tried to adjust the floats again..sounds better but same issue.
It's been a few days now...any help is appreciated...I'm not a mechanic and I have linited tools.

Update

I adjusted the floats (wet) and when running sounds smooth, though it's rough start, and the carb 'farts' a bit.. I tried brake&gas and shift into gear but it still cuts off... btw still on the side of highway 17 twenty miles from camp verdes. Luckily it's an RV, so I'm just tinkering...but I didn't want to mess with the carb screws cause I'm not sure which direction I should go and which ones do what...I remember there being two a fine and course adj but my memory fails me... any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Does this help isolate the pronlem? ...the nearest garage charges 75$/hr....plus probably a diagnostic charge. How could I make it richer, turn the idle screw? (Direction?).

After messing with the floats, it ended up being a loose ignition which moved when shifting into gesr, holding it firm allowed me to shift into drive... now I have poor power cause I've been twiddling the floats lol... so my question now is clockwise and counter-clockwise which lowers and raised the floats? I was guessing before...but seems gas comes out of the sight hole at either extremes.
