Cowl data plate

My recently purchased 50 f68 has painted data plate on firewall, is this a aluminum plate or is there any other info under paint. What could i use to remove paint but not not ruin any printed material on plate?

It would have been s-o-o-o much trouble for them to mask that, wouldn't it?!

That's a Canadian-only tag. I would think there "might" be something printed next to "Style", but I think the serial number tells everything there is to know (model, body style, etc.). See here:
