My new dent!

Welp, it's been a while since I've been on here, but I'm back to present my new-to-me supercab! Driving all the way out to Iowa tonight to pick her up. Here's what I know so far...will post up VIN later:

-1977.5 judging by cowl mount badges
-460 V8, C6, Dana 60 rear end
-Camper Special package

Only rust I have seen on it is a tiny bit above the left rear fender. Runs real sharp and has lots of new goodies. Plans now are to make her a solid daily driver again and fix stuff as it pops up.

I'll shut up now I know it's about the pictures!

Thanks! Gonna be driving her home in a few hours. Yeah it's only got that step thingy on the passenger side...wasn't sure about that as I've never seen one before. Will have more pics once I get her home.

ALL 1977/79's used the same badges, and...
1977.5 (serial number Y20,001 - assembled mid-model year [February 1977]) ONLY applies to F250 4WD's.

1977 F250 4WD: Before serial number Y20,001 is a High Boy; from serial number Y20,001 is not a High Boy.

There were no High Boy Super Cabs.

Upper pic: Genuine Ford Slide-Out Step.

Welcome back Dave. And congrats on the new to you truck. It looks pretty darn good. Love those pop out super cab windows. Not all super cabs had those. And they can be rather hard to find. Funny thing is last year I could have bought about 6 different pairs at the different swap meets I went to. This year I had been keeping my eye out for them for another member here and didn't find a single pair. Lesson learned I guess.

Oh and by the way all 1977 Ford trucks had the cowl mounted name plates. Not just the mid year production trucks. What future plans do you have for that sweet ride?

Once I get it here (pick up plans didn't work tonight...go figure) I plan to go over it thoroughly and replace anything that's bad or badly aged. From the inspection I gave it when I looked at it and the new parts I see, not too bad in and under it. Weird that only the passenger step remains, but cool nonetheless.

For some reason I thought the badge shift happened mid 77. My mistake there.

And yeah those windows are sweet. Haven't seen too many of em for sale separately, but have seen quite a few trucks up here with em for sale.

Main goal: make this my daily over my sport Trac until the gas kills my wallet. Good thing my drive to work is super short.

In the meantime, really need to find a ride from southern Wisconsin to Iowa haha.

So.... what happened with your old dent? IIRC you were planning an engine rebuild.

What happened there is that when the motor exploded in it, I pulled it out and the started the list of things I wanted to do to it while it was down waiting for the engine (fix this, fix that, etc). Sometime after that one of my friends motioned that he wanted to buy it and me being dumb sold it to him...only to have it get sold to the crusher a year later because he saw lots of rust and thought it couldn't be saved at that point.

Lesson learned. Don't sell cars to blockheads.

That's unfortunate Dave. But at least you're back in another dent. Just don't let this go. Hehehe.

Yeah I was pissed when I found out it had been scrapped. But at least I'll have this one this weekend. Finding a driver to drive out to go get it was a pain, but looks like now I will have it saturday!

And can someone enlighten me on the deal with the steps? Never knew that was even an option for these trucks.
