Interior door handle

Stu, what is the correct position for the interior door handle on the 51-52 trucks. You gave three examples of beautifully restored stock trucks and all three have the door handle at different positions. And the truck this thread is about has it at another angle. I know for a fact from my Ford literature that the door handle should be installed so it is at around 2:00. That way it will not interfere with the window regulator handle.

I would think that 51-52 and probably 48-50 would be the same.

Outside of a good cleaning it doesn't look that bad to me. That paint is dusty and on the exterior likely oxidized so a good DA buffer from harbor freight and some compound will bring whats there back to life. If it's been in that barn for 36 years it's going to be in pretty decent shape although you may have some squatters living in the truck that you'll have to evict. I'd love to find one like that. Can't wait to see it pulled out of there. Be careful when doing so as that trim is very expensive and hard to find in good shape.

Don't know. I'll do a review of the collection of doors and see what I find. Will report back. Stu

You'll want to be careful cleaning that mess out. Remember mice feces can be dangerous. Protect yourself well and pressure wash the whole works out.

Other than that, it looks like its got a lot of potential!

I love the Sheridan blue. Its the same colour as my 1950.

Down and to the rear, per a previous thread on the subject.

Hmm, so that is different than the 53-56 handle position.

Thanks Ross.
