F-250 gauges and power windows don't work unless door lock button is depressed
2000 F-250 7.3 Auto 4x4 CCSB with banks 6 gun tuner and trans command.
As stated in the title, none of my gauges, power windows, remote lock/unlock or interior lights work unless my power door lock button is depressed, which makes everything function normally.
I previously had a broken bell housing on the 4r100 and was backing up my steep driveway when it bound up and stalled the motor. Upon startup all of the above had stopped working.
Does anybody have an idea as to what could have happened or how to fix it?

Hi - welcome to the forum. Sorry you're having problems.
From the weird behavior you're describing it sounds like a (main) Ground Wire came off of the engine or the chassis when the bell housing broke.
The electric circuits for the gauges, power windows, remote lock/unlock & lights act like they don't have a normal path to ground. When you activate the door lock switch, the other non-working items now find an electrical route to ground through that Power Door Lock switch and function for the duration that the switch is pressed. As soon as you release the power lock button, its switch opens and the electrical return path to ground goes away and the other stuff stops working.
Look to see if one of the heavy copper (braided) wires that hooks up to the Engine/Tranny came loose. I don't remember exactly where they are....(I used to have a 2001 F350 until 2010, but no longer have the shop manual or wiring diagrams.)
Hopefully somebody else with the 2000 Superduty manuals can chime in.

Just wanted to update this thread. I found the issue. The ground wire under the drivers side kick panel was loose. It would periodically regain contact and everything would work as normal until it lost contact again.
To sum up all of the things effected by this loose ground wire:
- all dash gauges
- windows
- interior light would flicker on and off whenever I turned the car off
- remote lock worked very intermittently
- truck would not go into 4x4
- every time I pressed the door lock button, when I let go the torque converter would unlock
- windshield wipers didn't work
Everything worked as normal when the door lock button was depressed.
I think that is all. Hopefully this helps someone else. Thanks for the help!
