Look at a new camper

I am looking at a 2016 forest river wildwood. Does anyone have any experience with them and how they have held up. We will be camping for a week at a time. 10 to 12 times a year.

I have a 2012 Wildwood X-Lite 26BHXL. So far so good. The quality seems to be there and the roof is holding up well (only one 2" bubble back by the rear). I wish I had bought something with a slider though, it gets a little cramped when two people are trying to pass each other.

Yeah the wild wood I am looking at has the dinette and couch bump out. Hopefully I can get up to look at it soon. Have had no time in the last few days.

Yes, we held out through 3 other campers before we got one with a slide. I will not go without one now, not exactly like going from a tent to a camper but darn close.

If you ever intend to trade or sell, not having a slide is a serious hindrance.

They seem nice, we have looked at them when we were shopping. Downside is the swivel TV that does not give you as much privacy as you could see between the cracks.

Other sources of information can be found by googling topics like " whatever company reviews" or "owner reviews of ". I would encourage as broad a review as possible.

We had this exact model. We bought it new in 2013. If you trade or flip campers you may want to avoid wildwood. They are a entry level camper. I was unimpressed with the build quality.

The slide torqued and had issues with the amount of glue around the seals so bad that it cracked one of the windows in the slide by the dinette.

I replaced the control board in the AC/DV inverter twice

The dinette benches had to be reinforced (I am fat)

Water heater had no remote ignition

Floor felt weak from the get go

Things I liked about my 26TBSS:

Sat high on the suspension (good for towing behind HD trucks and good for sewer hookups.

Ducted A/C and heat

Lots of room for not much money

It never leaked

We had a 19ft 2004 Mallard and I can tell you that the old Fleetwood was put together with much heavier wood and better craftsmanship.

Yeah we ended up going with the coachman Catalina after walking through a few different units.
