TSB-15-0137. Fuel pump fuse.

2013 F150 5.0. I read about the problem and checked mine, it was fine. Still, after looking at the photos of the burned fuse sockets, no way I am going to ignore this one! Kit is around $20 and is less than an hour. I was 50 minutes, one guy claimed he did his in 30. Real easy mod and well worth it. I would rather spend the $20 than take it in for warranty.

I ordered mine from a Ford dealer on eBay. Was $19 or so to my door. Comes with the A1S type fuse, the heat shrink, a sticker to put in the fuse box, the whip to solder in and 17 pages of instructions. It took me about 45 minutes.
I scanned to instructions and will post the Dropbox link here so you can read and decide if it's something you can do yourself or take it in. While my truck didn't exhibit problems, I did it as a preventative measure.

Personally, I don't see the point in moving the fuse, unless it overheats and ruins the existing spot. You wouldn't be any better off in the new location, it could still overheat. The question is, what is causing the circuit to draw too much current and get hot. This TSB simply addresses the resulting bad fuse location.
The kit not only gives you the new fuse and wiring but also a label showing the new location. I shamelessly stole some photos from the 'net as I am not taking my own at 5 am. Seriously, this is great peace of mind.

Alright, that makes some more sense. I didn't read through the entire procedure, so guess I didn't notice that. Still, I wonder if there is a deeper issue, besides the fuse socket. I'm sure that any of the other 20 amp fuse sockets are no larger or better. I love how the TSB says "certain vehicles" or some such wording as that.

Ordered my Relocation Kit this morning from a Ford dealer on ebay. ~ $17, shipped. I see the same issues on certain models of Freightliner trucks. Some have connections smaller than that, for the headlights, that burn up on a regular basis. I have to "rebuild" the connector with a new harness plug and terminals to the headlight capsule. What were the engineers thinking?

Correct part number. I pulled my fuse yesterday and it looks the same as yours (no issues noticed), however for $15 - hard to argue with taking care of it to prevent a possible headache down the line.

Wished I Had Known Sooner
Took my son to his hockey game out of the city and after the game, crank but no start. No cell service so had to borrow phone in rink to phone CAA (AAA) for a tow to the dealership. Once I was able to access this great forum, I learned immediately about the TSB and the quick fix. Dealership charges in Canada were $479 for diagnostics (read the TSB!!!) and install of the fuse relocation. I did get the two tone black and white fuse relocation sticker though.
If you have not done this, next oil change just splice in the larger fuse and not leave your self stranded.
