Good day, I have a 06 6.0 ccsb with roughly 140k. I decided to to a coolant flush, as coolant was slowly dissapearing on and off for about a year now. Well, after flushing it with tap water and running it a bit after a couple dozen flushes, I drove to work this morning with the truck running fine. Well lunch time comes, and its like the vanes were stuck open and the turbo wasn't creating any boost. A code po470 pulled up, so I tore into the sensor and tube and cleaned both, and installed. After a couple flushes with distilled, I noticed the code went away, but the vanes would either stay open, or work normally every time I turned the motor on and off. Well, when the turbo finally kicked in, I drovr around for a bit and was running WOT and the turbo started making a very low pitched whine, but I looked at the sct gauge and still showed around 25 psi, and now I don't know what to think. First of all, I figured I could replace the sensor, but the whining noise is another issue. Could the turbo need cleaned? Sorry for the long post but I'm at a stand still! Thank you fr any and all help!!
Edit, now it is showing a p0069, manifold absolute pressure barometric pressure correlation
OK, so since my truck is already partially disassembled, I figured I would pop the turbo out to take a look and minus it out of the equation. Well the solenoid isn't siezed, and vanes aren't siezed, blades all look good so I'll button it back up and replace the sensor (if anyone carries one up here) does anyone know the part number for it? This one is a plastic nut housing and I have the model with it coming up right under the degas bottle. O'Reillys shows on their site a egr back pressure solenoid that looks identical....same thing? Thanks!
Ok so far the truck is running well, but the spool down of the turbo is much more noticeable. I don't believe its a leak or anything but maybe its because I just cleaned it?? No dtcs as of yet. Truck is straight piped BTW turbo back, so I hear everything. (And everyone else, lol)
06 is Highly dependant on EBP for Boost Calc Boost its a V-ref sensor and If it has an Issue its Going to Trip a DTC fast its a Qualty Monitored sensor continuous Monitored
If you don't have a DTC I suspect Gauge program EBP is Off
