Come to think of it thir was a little discoleration and pealing of that rubber insulator coating under one of the capasitors but it was not much so i didnt think to much of it. I do have a fluke with capasitance abilty can you messure them while still on the board?

Not usually, since other stuff in the circuit will throw off the measurements.

A capacitor can be completely failed without any outward signs of failure, by the way.

Looking at the board with the plug away from you the + (POS) is to the left and the - NEG is to your right on all of the caps.

626 & 629 are two different solenoids that did not change state when told too so I dough that the solenoid pack is bad.

You might want to check the back of the plug going into the transmission on the passenger side as the wire have become disconnected at that point. Very common if someone has left the heat shield off that protects the plug from the heat of the exhaust.

For the EVR code check the wiring going back to the Computer and the red supply wire that gives power to the solenoid. If wiring is OK change out the EVR solenoid.

Bringing this back from the dead, did you ever figure this out? I'm in the same boat with a 1992 5.8l with codes 558 and 332 and I've changed out the EVR and it's still the same issue. Can anyone post how to definitely check the circuit back from the EVR solenoid to the computer?

Same boat different year

I have a 95 f150 xlt, speedometer is all over the place, transmission issues and now that I ran the obd test I got the 558 and 332 codes. Has anyone figured out any answers to this problem yet.
