Oswego Future of Tough Event
Attended the event in Oswego yesterday. Found out some new things about the trucks. It was held at a festival so all the trucks were in a fenced area that were the drive vehicles. Ford reps did a great job of showing off the new tech for trailer use. Also took some video that I have to edit and hopefully post some links when they are ready. The LED headlights work like all other vehicles. Top light is low beam and bottom one is high beam. All are on for high and top only in low. The driving lights go off when high is selected.
The bed prep appears to be slightly ahead of the axle. The trucks appeared to be production trucks with a VIN in the 12xxx range. I did get a ride in a 350 6.7 and the ride was firm on bumps but smooth in general, we were on city streets. The videos are of the Ford reps explaining how the cameras work and all the possibilities. Hope to get them ready soon. Here are some pics.

Don't feel too bad - I signed up and drove an hour and a half Friday afternoon only to get there and be told they weren't letting anybody actually drive them!?! I'm leaning toward going from the current F-150 to a 6.2 F-250 for the extra payload. Thought for sure they wouldn't have "my truck" there, but they did. Nice Lariat pretty much matching my desired build. Got to sit in it and they guy played with the cameras which are cool (but I pretty much always get my trailer where I'm aiming even without cameras).
The #1 thing I wanted to do was feel how it rides. No dice. I can see where Harborfest gets kind of crazy, but if its billed as a "drive" tour, wish they would have had a place to drive...
Was fun to actually sit in one and see everything. No white gold to check out, but I have to say every one of the colors we saw - shadow black, silver, magnetic, white, ruby red w/caribou looked awesome. No bad color choices there. And I think the trucks overall, especially the grill, look better in person than in the pictures. Really like the looks.
Now back to waiting for the dealer to get one...
