Best print mechanical guide for excursion

. I didnt buy a Chilton or haynes when I got my x a couple weeks ago because I read reviews that the ones that said they covered the excursion did not have hardly anything specific to excursions in them

The shop manual is so expensive is the cd the only other technical guide out there?

Ive read they require all sorts of jury rigging with t the computer dates etc

Thanks Well one thing that's not working is that information Center that has the temp on the digital readout and I don't know what else. It's over the middle top of the windshield

Also I am intermittently getting check engine light code P0404 and p0683. I'm not really sure what to do about those

Does it matter which year shop manual as long as the engine is right

The 6.0 was put in the X diesels from 2003 on, right? Would any of those shop manuals work.?

The overhead gauge has some chips on the back that come loose and cause the display to stop working. If you can solder you can fix it yourself. I used a guy of ebay that fixes them in Florida...Works much better and the MPG portion seems to be pretty close to my hand calculations.

If you haven't look those codes up yet I am pretty sure the po404 is and EGR and the po683 is Glow plug control module

As far as the manuals go, there is a difference between the older and newer 6.0's. Besides, my manuals cover the whole excursion, bumper to bumper.

Before writing off the disc, it's as simple as right clicking the date on your computer, and changing the year to 200(x).

Mine still works fine with Win10, as long as it thinks it's 2004.

thanks for the tip I got it and a wiring diagram for 20. if you search for 2004 excursion shop manuals they are all WAY more expensive than the 2005. I noticed it after following your link. The 2004 all are 250 350 excursion combined.

And I noticed the 2004-2005 excursion cd which means those 2 model years are the same , which I'm sure you already knew but I didn't.

Anyway its something new learned about the shop manuals, the 2005 are much cheaper (I guess because they just are ex rather than the trucks too)
