1978 F150 Lariat Build
I thought I'd start my own thread now since I got a nice project. I'm 18 years old and I rebuilt the motor hoping to drive the truck to grad. I got her running but it had no oil pressure. I missed grad, pulled the motor out and found out the part store gave me the wrong lifters. **** happens I guess. This will be a slow project but she shall be fun
Ford 400. Crappy motor but i decided to rebuild her anyway.

I will have a lot of questions down the road. My plan is to run this rebuilt engine till it's worn. Then hopefully rebuild a somewhat powerful 390 or 460 to throw in. Use the truck daily for this summer while restoring everything in the cab. Hopefully rebuild the rear axle this fall. And worry about the exterior next year. Rough plan but that's the outline of it

In my opinion,I would stick to the original color, I see custom painted trucks and you know right away they never looked that good new. I dislike the lime green on mine but that's the color of the times so do what you feel is best for you.

Yea I agree with you, I like the original color so I think I'm gonna stick with it. I got a transmission leak. How hard would it be to change the front seal on a c6? Sorry if that's a dumb question but I heard that I might have to go from the back of the transmission to get to it

Sweet looking Dent, I was fortunate, I drove my Dad's 74 F250 2wd 390, three on the tree to graduation! That truck will last you a lifetime! You must be close to your Dad for him to sell it to you. You also seem to pay attention to those little things, this will get you far in this Forum, welcome to FTE!
