No more Vet rebate

I was glad a few months ago when Ford finally made their $500 rebate eligible for vets. It seems as of earlier this month they have dropped that unless you are recently separated from service (180 days). I think that's a shame, I realize $500 is a small token amount, but to offer it for awhile and then to take it away seems short sighted. It is still available for active/reserve and retired folks from the service.

yeah, that would be nice to have, but.....

I thought it was always for retirees, recently separated and reservists, I've never even pursued a veteran's rebate, I separated in '92.

When they first brought out the stupid Troop ID website back in Feb they expanded it to vets. I ran a few for folks. They changed the wording back to the earlier 180 days of separation. To my knowledge GM and Chrysler both offer $500 to all vets. Just think its a foolish one to pass over.

When I bought my 2010 Focus and 2011 truck, the rebate was for recently separated members. I was sometime after that time that Ford opened it up for all of us.

One thing I did find out while buying my truck was when using certain incentives, others are made not available.

That's right, you can't just add all the rebates up (though some online advertising seems to do just that). They did expand and allow for military to be eligible with all the plans, where before it was only on X plan. You can't combine AQHA and Mil and college and first responder. CO's qualify as first responder, but search and rescue does not. Go figure.

CO? Correctional officer? Not a first responder in my opinion. Search and rescue are usually secondary responders.
