Buying tires online

Hi guys. Call me a noob here but I was wondering if when buying tires online, I need to get anything else with them. What I mean is I have rims already ordered from a local dealer. I can't get the tires I want from them cause they don't sell that brand. Anyway, I want to order the tires but is there anything else I need to get with them? Like when you get rims, typically you get nuts with them and maybe tps's but for tires is there anything else I should get?

That's not what I need lol. I have a place to buy them. I just don't know if there's anything to buy WITH the tires.

I never have. I guess one could buy valve stems from them if you were going to mount them yourself, but if you are having that done, then just buy what you need from them.

Thats what I do

You could buy a tire warranty from them but it's not as good as getting one from a tire retailer who will sell and service your tires.

Online tire outlets have authorized installers all over the place, I recommend that you have your tires mounted by one of their authorized installers. I'm sure you're doing this already but I felt like it should be mentioned.

I got my tires off Amazon, ordered them up and had my favored local tire shop install them. Nothing else required except a bunch of cash for 22" A/T tires.

I'd get a warranty paper of some kind if they offer it but as far as valve stems or TPMS or anything else, I'd just let your installer get that. I've bought from Discount Tire before and would do it again

You just need to buy the tires. Your local shop will finish the job.

I always give the local shop a chance to give me a close price. They don't need to match it, just get reasonably close. An internet store doesn't check my tires, repair flats, pay taxes into my community, or employ my neighbors. It is important to keep the local folks in business, especially in small towns.

I agree however my local shop does not sell the brand I wanted so I went online. I did however purchase the rims from them and they well be installing them.

See if they will price match. You'll be surprise of what businesses will do for their customers sometimes by simply asking.

There aren't any other shops around you with the tire you're looking for at a higher price that you'll be paying for online? I understand that you're talking about where you bought the wheels from, all I'm saying is that a lot of businesses are loosing money to internet sales, so a lot of them will price match. Maybe shop around a bit, or make some calls. Good luck to you anyway.

I understand what you are saying. Here's the thing. I originally went shopping in town. I found the tires at two different places for sale. One place was 350/tire, they other was 445/tire. The third place had the brand but said they couldn't get the type and size I needed. So I went with the local shop and they said it would be a couple weeks. I was ok with that. However it's been 7 weeks now and they still have no eta on them. I didn't feel like waiting any longer so I bought online. 2 days will be delivered to my door. Paid slightly more online actually. 12/tire more by the time you calculate shipping. So in other words,I would prefer buying local, trust me. However sometimes you gotta seek other avenues
