Installing Holley Red Electric Fuel Pump
I have ordered a Holley red electric fuel pump for my 80/84 F100/F150 project. I am just wondering if anybody had installed one of these before and how they did it. I have a side mount tank and would like to mount it to the frame. Pictures would be great!
Thanks, John

You should know any NOT in tank elect. pump does not pull fuel it pushes it.
The inlet should be wet all the time. This is hard when not using a fuel cell with a sump and is mounted above the pump.
Now other have used elect. pumps with stock tanks with no issues but just wanted to let you know how it should be mounted.
Anyway Mount the pump below fuel level so it stays some what "wet" and as close to the tank as you can.
Use as little of rubber hose as you can. If you have a long space say between tank & pump use 2 short hoses with metal line between them.
The pump should use a relay to power it so it will get a full 12vastheHolley pumps(blue & red) pull a lot of power.
That relay should also go thru an oil psi switch. This way if the motor stops running say like a roll over, the pump will stop pumping fuel.
Other than that there is not much to it for mounting, plumbing & wiring.
BTW all Holley pumps (blue) I have used where for racing and used a fuel cell with sumps mounted higher than the pump so they were wet all the time and powered with relays.
