Abe, how about you show up on my doorstep Friday morning.
We can drive up, Gwen can spend the day with our daughter and we can slip on over to the sale.

Yes, you can buy that truck for the mirrors! And get any other parts you need, and then resale it on ebay or C-list and make money to go towards your '55 rebuild!

That's some high quality enabling. I'm heading on a float trip, when I return tomorrow night, I will talk with the boss. I can see the look already and "sure you do that"

You guys are too funny You know Nebraska is an excellent vacation destination. Just remember to bring your scrapers, wire brushes, sandpaper and safety goggles. Free room and board is included! Going to try and slip over there to get some pictures (any thing specific besides the mirrors?) Also, will try to figure out the mystery of the grill/engine. Which was, by the way, a good catch Joe!

Your selling point should be, "but honey, I can make money on this!"

I really don't think an old not running truck would go for much at a public auction that will have farmers looking for working tractors, trucks, and implements.

I looked at the Truck today and found it to be a little rougher than it looks. Probably because I was a little spoiled with the condition of my truck. I still has plenty of potential. I thought I would check out the ID tag in the glove box, and guess what I found!! Pic below. Also, a few pictures of the mirrors that a member was curious about. Also the autioneer told me at some point the V8 was switched out to a 6.

Is that a 51 or 52 in the background? Nope that's just a manure spreader!

Now Abe, that is funny

Keep us informed if possible, I'd still like to know what it goes for. Up here that's a $2000+ truck at a crazy bidding auction.

Wow, that's not bad. A script bed and a custom cab also.

Someone buy it before the Home Owners Assoc makes him scrap it!

Really?

Why so much hate? Older is wiser or so they say.
I do want a 53 for my next truck though. Wish it was closer

Drum Roll Please!

And the Winning Bid..................$1500.I know some of you wanted an update and the truck was sold for $1500. Bid started at $500 with only 2 bidding parties. I talked to the new owner, who is local, and was glad to hear that he planned to restore it original. Sorry Joe and Abe, but our plan didn't work out. I did try and will keep my eyes open. Thanks for all the replies! Dave

$1500, good price. Up here, like I said, $2000 easy. Put in an auction up here and the goof ***** come out of he con fields and would have a bidding party. I wouldn't be surprised if I would have gone up to $5K. And then it would have gone to some goof with 20 other projects rotting away in his yard. I've seen that happen more than once.
