Thanks Bill. Great chart showing the different types.

That type 4 looks alot like the shaft and gear out of my f2 marmom herrington transfer case.
See picture
Its a 17 tooth gear (whats left of it anyway)
Also has this number stamped in it. SW 103798

Any ideas of where i could find something like this?

Thanks

This is the Stewart Warner part number, it can be crossed to the Ford part number if I can find a reference.

So far, I cannot, will look further and see if I can find it.

The only truck parts catalog that shows pics/cross reference numbers is 1964/72.

Edit: I cannot find a cross reference for it. You'll have to find it using the SW number. Pic: Because here's all I have.

Call one of the sources and ask for a description.

Well you seem to be correct as you should be and looks like that whoever has posted the nylon ones under the number that you have posted has really screwed with me.

Carpenter is out of stock on the 19t one but Green has it and the guy says it is metal like it should be. He could not pull or have it pulled are looked at because the warehouse was closed so I will call tomorrow and have them do a quick check and then order.

Even if this trans came with a 20t then who know how right or wrong it was for what the trans was put in so something is way better than nothing for sure.
Thanks for your help for sure.

The old 62 bus was located on the other side of the trans but with all the work it took to clean the area out and then get the damn thing out knowing it was wrong we did it any way so now I have a 14t one that just maybe someone can use if a new one can't be found? It is also shorter and the cable is the type that has the little 7/16th bolt that holds the cable in to the gear housing.
Number on it is
SW448584 TFEP 14 But no luck on the net or that number?
The data tag for the old bus was mounted in the glove box and could get to it till today with all the stuff that was in front of it.

Thanks again for all your help

46duke: What number of 01T DRIVEN gear teeth do you want: 18 - 19 or 20?

I was typing a looong post listing all 3 gears (all are available NOS) and the sources. Bang...off went the SOB into cyberspace.

btw: Carpenter does not list the 19T, but plenty of others (including Ford dealers) do.

The gear that is damaged that was in this trans is
01T-71 C20
That is the one on the right that is in the picture in post #1

Green says they have the 19T
01Y-17285-B that you had listed but if you look for it on their site then it can't be found? I will call them back today and order it.

Do not order it, this is the DRIVE gear, you want the DRIVEN gear
Two different members hijacked your thread, causing confusion.

01T-17271-C .. Speedometer DRIVEN Gear - 20 teeth / Obsolete

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 1 = 800-543-4959.

KLIMESH MOTOR SALES in Calmar IA has 1 = 563-562-3241.

MCDONALD OBSOLETE PARTS CO. in Rockport IN has 2 = 812-359-4965.

CARPENTER NOS OBSOLETE PARTS in Concord NC has 2 = 800-476-9653.

*Green Sales: Most people just call and buy the parts, but some type the part number into their website to verify, but...

When doing this, remove any spaces or hyphens, type it like this: O1T17271C .. If not, they won't show they have the part. Also, type the letter O instead of the zero (0).

Yep the hijacking really screwed with me for sure.

Just ordered the 20T one from green

Thanks

This is why I was also having trouble finding the correct part like on Green. I was doing as they ask I thought but reading this again then now I know why I could not find the part on their site and guess even others because I was using the number 0 and not the letter O.
Here is what it says on their site.
"
NOTE: Do not use any separators("-" or" *") in the part number. Be sure to use a numeric "0" and not an alpha "O" as the year indicator (2nd position). (example: "D0OZ" not "DOOZ") "

I went back to my post #1 and posted a picture of a trans even though it is not what we would use but the parts were named correct. And the diff of a #0 and an letter O was really screwing things up for me and other as well I would bet.

All is done now and with any luck we might have a speedometer that works one the new part comes in. Now to hope the Drive gear is not damaged?
