King pin Dana 60 knuckle play

I have a 79 F250 with Dana 60 front. When I grab the front wheel top to bottom there is some slop at the king pins. I recently replaced the white top bushing but reused the spring. Can the spring be worn enough to cause this? I would think there is a lot of weight on that spring when the truck is jacked up. Thanks for any help.

Yes springs wear out. You could try shimming it but for the price of a new spring I would get new ones. If you shim them, take the t.r.e. off so you can check for the slightest bind. One thing you don't want to do is shim it into a bind, you can end up with cracks in your frame around the steering box.
