Do you have to lightly press the pedal or put it to the floor? If you have to put it to the floor, that turns the injectors off which means it is trying to start with too much fuel. Check the coolant temp sensor.
I have a 96 Ford F-250 7.5L that wont start unless I press the gas pedal then runs fine. Any suggestions?
Just wanted to say this worked for my 2002 Eddie Bauer, 4 l. I had all of those symptoms. Gas pedal to the floor turned over 50 times and then finally, stalled in reverse or Drive initially but once it got going it was fine. The second I unplugged that coolant sensor it started every time first turn of the key. Have a replacement but that trick very cool still works in the future in 2002 LO.l
