After I changed my mind about running the 390 and the C6 tranny I dug the 302 out from the back of the garage so I could test the fit again. I bought the motor mounts from chassis engineering about five years ago. I am going to use different alternator and power steering pump brackets. The ones on it where used in a truck that it came out of. I have five inch's of clearance between the oil pan and axle. I am going to try some long tube headers from a 66 mustang and also some stock manifolds and if no luck I will go with the ones from speedway.

 

Looking good with lot's of room for that 302, nice Toyota box too.....gotta do my F1 steering over someday. Post back on your header install, will be nice to know if the long tubes will fit.

 

I went through three sets of long tube headers from early 60's model mustang and none of them fit. Back to the drawing board
