1946 ma bell truck

Does anyone know the history of the ma Bell truck .. I have a 1946 Ford ma Bell truck.. curious about the history

Does it look like the one on CL Wenatchee Washington? 1/2 ton '46

It's a different truck. Here is sdjaur's truck from his profile page. Appears to be in NM. I'm not sure how you'd be able to track down history on the Bell System trucks.

The Washington truck looks pretty good in those pics. Can't buy anything else this year.

Back in the 1950s the phone company had a yard with their trucks about 1\2 mile from our home. The mechanic shop was 200 feet from our home had a contract to service the trucks. They got regular service on a schedule. I think my older brother would drive them to and from the yard when he worked at the mechanics shop. I remember the trucks were grey or green grey with a box on the back. I'll ask my brother about the details. Patrick

That green like the inside the compartment door on the Wa truck is the color of the Ma Bell trucks IIRC. I think some other color would have been a different utility and probably anybody could have bought one. Very cool no matter who bought it new.
