I have a 2002 F-350 2WD four door base/ fleet type truck and was wondering what kind of home made/ other center console and storage area people have made/ used when the truck has a bench seat. I have no need to haul six people so I have no issue with building something in this area and since the inside of the truck is "used" I am open to any suggestions.

There are several aftermarket "sit on the seat" type consoles available. I've seen everything from cardboard and fiberglass packing tape to 6061 T6 aluminum and Phenolic Honeycomb.

I guess it all depends on how much space you want to give unto it?

 

are you up for doing a bucket seat swap? if you never use the center front seat i'd look into that then you can run either a stock console from a SD or excursion (excursion console is a little different in the back, has 2 additional cup holders) or various other stock consoles from like an expedition, etc. the expedition console is cool because it's full size so it runs all the way up to the dash. i always thought of doing it and still may, but currently i took out my stock console in my crew cab f350 and i plan on building a custom console to house one or two 10's/12's for some nice bass without using up any room in the back, as well as storage for things and multiple cup holders, and a place to rest my phone as well. but check into the expedition console, pretty cool mod. but you'd need buckets to do so. might be able to come across a pair for a good deal on craigslist, i know they are all over in my area.
