What is the voltage supposed to be at the AC cpmpressor plug?

My AC system was discharged by a leak before I got it, Just checking things out, If I Turn "ON' the system at the dash switch, I get 4.5 Volts at the compressor plug, IS this "normal?"
Thanks.

I don't know... but the A/C isn't going to work without a decent charge, the pressure switch will detect a low charge and will keep the compressor from coming on.

This is true, and building on that I'm wondering if the voltage increases with the increase pressure of a refrigerant charge.

I can't imagine so, it's a simple open/closed switch and not a rheostat.

Seem to recall you can hotwire direct, to see if it will spool up, even if refrigerant is low.

Cool! I hot wired it to the battery and the clutch engages like it is suppose to.
Thanks!

Schematic is here, on Page 142: A/C & Heater - Gary's Garagemahal. There's nothing in there that is supposed to drop the voltage.
