Temporary power loss

I have a 2016 Superduty F350 4X4 with the 6.7L Diesel. When I am driving around town and take off from a red light to make a turn, I accelerate, start the turn then press the pedal to continue out of the turn but there is no response. When pressing further on the accelerator it will suddenly take off and I have to back off to reduce to a normal speed. This only happens at low speed and could be a safety issue if the road was wet or I needed emergency power. Any suggestions? The truck only has 2500 miles on it and I haven't taken it in to the dealer for the first service yet.

Try turning off the traction control and see if it still does this .

I'll give that a try when I can duplicate the problem. I tried taking it around the block a couple of times and it was fine.

Unhappy Update on original post

Turning off the traction control didn't help. I took it in to the dealer and they had it for a full day and they said "tested it and reset the computer" and that what I was experiencing was "normal and just Turbo Lag". I don't really buy that at such low speeds there could be 2-3 seconds of "Turbo Lag". I don't like it but I guess I will have to live with it and see what happens.

Is it possible it's also changing gears to second then back to first? A gear change up and down plus turbo lag could cause this. You might try putting it in M and selecting either 1st or 2nd while stationary. Drive around the corner to see if it exhibits the same behavior. (Be sure to up shift appropriately or switch back to D once you are through the corner.)

I will try manual shifting but I don't even have to get up to a high enough speed for it to be up or down shifting. I will watch the gear indicator.

Manual shifting

Looks like it is the transmission causing the delay. Using manual shifting seems to cure the delay in accelerator response. I guess the transmission is in the process of deciding which gear it is supposed to be in when it is in automatic. I haven't experienced this before and can only guess it is some kind of computer control. Still don't like it!

Exactly, Its a known thing with the 6R140. As you see manually shifting using the +/- switch on the shift handle(as suggested) provides favorable results. Come to a stop and click it down into 1. Then take off and up shift each gear at 1500-2K on each gear and see what a difference it makes. Or put it into tow mode and see if it improves. Though you may not like the no-load down shifts, I dont. When I roll through a stop sign I get the same low speed bog(6.2, Gas). The speed sensing loose its mind so the trans doesnt know if it wants 1st or 2nd so it hangs out between both...nice. Quite annoying indeed. Some have put a tune on the trans controller and say its a totally different truck with the custom tune. I dont doubt it. Im not a fan of the 6R140s shift strategy. Im a fan of the overall 6R140s engineering from a bullet proof stand point. 9 of 10 times I manually shift mine with the +/- switch. Ill never really like an auto. Im a stick trans driver.
