FWIW, I changed injectors going on 2K miles ago here:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...round-2-a.html

I used brakekleen and compressed air to clean the bolt holes. I installed the new injectors with new bolts, some blue loctite, 125 in/lbs torque. The blue had a week to cure before I was able to finish the work. I've had no issue since then and no reason to suspect loosening injector bolts. I'll keep an ear out for them and next time I'm in the VC's I may check, but all good so far.

I considered using locktite... I might grow some on this weekend when I get back in there.

I've never been able to get mine to hold still without blue thread lock. It's not foolproof - I sometimes have one or two work loose, but a re-torque of the offending stick usually gets it done. I had one get away from me and I didn't catch it in time - this was something like 5000 miles after checking it last. It was the only loose one under the hood, but it was enough - I lost a cup.

1.7 million miles of driving the 7.3... dozens and dozens of injector swaps...

Zero "hot" retq...

Because its not required.

**** anymore I dont even TQ them. Just tight with a 1/4" ratchet.

Here's a link to what the truck sounds like right now. I'm going to be checking and re torquing the cylinders as soon as I get home.

Alright guys. I got in there made sure the injectors were seated and she was warm. I had just stopped from an hour long trip.

I torqued the injectors to 130 in/lbs and made sure all the deflectors were tight.

Here is a video of what she sounds like.

This sound okay to you guys?

Oh I also got my temp gun out read everything and used a stick to listen to the injectors as I've read before.

Everything sounded the same and even.

Any advice or ideas before I close her back up?

Otto, using a stick is a great idea if you don't have a stethoscope handy. Thanks for the tip!!

It's so hard to tell from a phone video and the lack of a chip on single-shots. How did it sound to you?

I feel like I can still hear something... I'll just have to wait until Wednesday when my chip is supposed to be here.

I've been forced to drive the truck without the tune.

My chip had to be shipped out reprogrammed and shipped back. According to my tracking number it'll be here Wednesday.

It may all be caused by the tune but I'm not sure. I was attempting to diagnose everything without the tune but I'll just wait and see what happens.
