starter issue

so after truck sitting for a winter at home and reactivating it for the summer, i soon discovered a dead spot in the starter..when cranking it suddenly goes dead..stops..i try again and usually it starts..once it did it like a worn out bendix would..nothing untill i switched it back and forth untill it decided to work..i think its a ground issue as it cranks normally untill it just stops like i said..also intermittent with my remote starter..i only have 1 battery in it now as i dont need 2 for the summer..both those ends are taped off for the driver side battery..is there a ground strap somewhere in there?

thx in advance

I would get a SD high torque starter. Only two bolts but it works great on our engines. If your one battery is good it will work, if its weak at all then your motor will not spin over fast enough. I've done it on occasions but not very much.
