I have a 96 f-150 with a f4te 351w and a freaking weird transmission. It has absolutely no markings on it other than a laser etching on the side that has Showtrucks u.s.a. On the side of the bell housing. The torque converter has the same logo and so does the rear diff and engine. Everything about it is abnormal. Anyone know about show trucks usa?
After doing some quick research, it appears to be an Allison MT series transmission. Since it doesn't have the extra long extension housing, it's the 4 speed model. Since this is a very light duty application, it's almost certainly the Allison MT643.
If it is indeed the MT643, it's a mechanical, non-overdrive 4-speed automatic with lockup in 3rd and 4th gear.
It did. But I hit a hog and the bell housing and case cracked and it shoved the pan through the valve body. anyways. At 684k miles, I feel like it deserves to be put to rest anyways. Could I just swap a 4r100 into it?
It has a pull brake over the center hump in the floor. I have a blown e4od that needs to be rebuilt. I might just rebuild it. Its in a 95 f150 351w i own. Would the computers still work?

No, completely different electronics. You'll need a 96 e4od computer and underhood wiring harness or just get an aftermarket controller.
If you don't have a check engine light, your truck must have a manual computer in it.
Also, MT643s are super cheap used and wildely available from wrecking yards and ebay. I've seen them for under 500 bucks.
