Looks Great! I guess technically a '48 should have a cream grill, But I think the argent looks better.

Well it's # is 97HT202*** so that pegs it at a '49 now I believe. Thought it may have been a late '48 at first cause I couldn't make out the plate

Yes it's 5.83/8.11 (just saw this)

Anybody have a spare original Ford passenger mirror arm and bracket? I actually need both sides . I stole one of my paneltruck arms for the driver side

Question: I've been looking high and low for tires form my 56 f500. I see in your build you found a nice set for your truck. Where did you get them?

You need to look high.. and low... and uncover every salvage yard within driving distance and usually further.

Currently, I have one spare set of 6 - 5.25 x 22.5 - 5 hole rims but they will require some repair (pits welded and ground primarily) some have welding already started but will bed to be ground down

Nothing will be cheap, but it took me about 3-4 years to get 4 sets together.
Pm me for prices

Alternatly, call Chucks Trucks, we can order new ones (do NOT look original) or have 20" centers mounted in new rims, but that will cost significantly more and require shopping the centers

You will also need to find 9R22.5 tires... New ones of which are only available as import unless you can find NOS domestic

Similar can be done with 19.5" although the diameter is smaller and consequently your truck will go slower, especially with the low gears typically in F-5/F-6

Truckdog can help with part no's if that interests you but it's pretty obvious what your looking for.

I've got 22.5's on the truck now. The wheels are in good condition but, the tire (8R 22.5) are pure junk. Most dealership in my are can't even order medium truck tires. The ones who can what a huge price for them.

Well sounds like you have the hard part figured out.
Tires:
There's decent recaps for the rear avail for a real good price now on the "bay". Bought a set for this truck and while not perfect they are clean, soft and the recap was professionals done.

Do typical search sites for virgin fronts, they're out there and usually reasonable if your patient

Sitting in DMV to get this heap registered.

45 mins to the information line, only 17 numbers from registering... Should only take 45mins to an hour !

Thanks Governor, better than the 4-6 hour it usually takes

Found the old registration from PO. Last registered in 1991, so probably when the gas was last filled ... No alcohol, no problems

Somebody asked how many red Ford dumptrucks I had

I'm a little impartial to F5/F500/F550's
