56 with a LH gas tank...factory??

Came across this truck on Ebay. It has a LH fuel tank. Just curious if they
were offered like this. The truck doesnt have the tank in the cab.

I have never seen a 56 with an under-cab fuel tank...I would say that someone "converted" the stock 56 tank to a slant cab tank to free up some space in the cab. Since the frame mods to the rear of the chassis prohibit the mounting of an under-bed tank, this option may have seemed reasonable to the builder. I also find it interesting that the front valence and wind deflectors are not for a 56, looks like they may be off a 55. If I were interested in this truck I would definitely pay a visit to the sellers garage and look this truck over carefully...definitely a Frankentruck and anybody who would spray bedliner on the outside of the bed would probably do other questionable things to the truck.

Got a link? Is it on an S10 chassis by any chance? Because S10's have the tank on the LH side. The way the front wheels are set in looks like some kind of chassis swap.

It has a Volare IFS under it...here is a pic of the rear section of the chassis, kinda different with the heavy leaf springs mounted under the frame and the odd frame members welded in the spare tire area. Go to ebay and search for 1956 Ford F100 and it will pop right up...
