Just because I couldn't find a post with this information the other day, I thought I would list the bolts needed to install the timing cover & water pump. I'm using a factory cover and a Murray mechanical water pump.

List of 5/16"x 18 thread pitch bolts

6- 4" long (water pump)
5- 1.5" long (water pump)
2- 2" long (bottom of TC)
1- 1" long (left side, above bottom bolt)
1- 2.5" long (next to fuel pump)

Fuel pump bolts are 3/8"x 16 thread pitch bolts. Need 2 of them, 1.25" long.

Hope it saves somebody a trip to the store.

 

Thanks for the dimensions list.. You don't happen to have a diagram or just recall from memory where the specific bolts go, do you? I'm about to reinstall the timing chain cover and water pump, but I am unsure of the positioning of the bolts since they are different lengths. I know you gave a brief description, but I'm still unsure.

 

Been awhile, I know... But, do you remember what size, and how many stud bolts there are?
