90 w/5.8 bucking at lower speeds/idle

I am at a loss for what is wrong, I tried fixing plugs, cap/rotar, and a vacuum leak. That helped with some driveability issues, after i drive about 50 miles I got near home started driving on slower streets. After sitting at first stop light the bucking happened, and I can't really see anything in the rpm drop. But the engine feels like its losing power or something else is slipping and causing a loss of power and the truck jerks briefly.

The downside is all the fixes I did yesterday, really did make it run 10x better. This issue is just something extra I can't pinpoint.

Any thoughts?

*Edit: I did a full oil/fuel/air filter change when I started driving it again at a Jiffy Lube about a month ago.*

A couple years ago my F150 acted somewhat like you described. If you have time, I would pull the ECU and take a look for old caps leaking and corroding, That is if you haven't looked at this yet.

I'd double check the spark plug wires and make sure they aren't touching the exhaust or grounding out out somewhere else. Also, they sometimes arc on each other as well. The easiest way to tell is pop the hood at night with the engine running. You can then move the throttle by hand and try and look at all the wires. Any burnt or discolored wires are a pretty good sign they are bad.

I was digging around in it all day yesterday at a self serve garage near by. I didn't see any wires that were burned and exposed etc. The stuff I did cut the frequency of the bucking/loss of power by half. At least in the short time I drove it. Last time i checked the codes, I was getting a TPS sensor and O2 sensor code. I replaced the tps and it still didn't fix it, and with yesterdays fixes as well. Bruners4 can you elaborate on what you mean? I have little experience with repairs period.

Go over to the 1987 - 1996 F150 forum as this is discussed there quite a bit.

I'm looking for the really good one that I used to find my problem. Give me some time and I'll find it. There might be something also on the Full Sized Bronco forum.

I fixed another possible Vacuum leak monday night after i went to Napa to see about a OBD-1 reader. It drives fine on the freeway for hte most part, however once i got off the freeway the loss of power was happening much more frequently and it stalled at the stoplight right after I got off the freeway.

I asked some friends online and 2 mentioned the fuel pump as a possible monster in this case. Is there a way to test for if the fuel pump "is" not working and the problem?

Rent a fuel pressure tester from the parts store.
