How is the 6.2 in the long term?

Hello I'm looking to get a 2012 f250 with the 6.2. I have a few questions before i proceed with buying the truck. Just want to say the truck will be my daily with light towing. Also where I work 60 percent of our fleet has the 6.2 engine. We do a lot of hauling/ plowing with them but one of the guys has a 2011 f350 and it has 40k miles and the trans slips already a tad. We haven't had any break downs yet as that truck has the most miles. My question to you is how many miles have you guys gotten out of them and have you had to do a lot of repairs? Thanks for your input.

last year. I purchased a 2012 6.2L 3.73.... with then 136,000 miles. in 4,100 hours.
and 600 idle hours.

over the winter I put 4,000 miles on a trip... with 1,500 pounds in the truck bed AND pulling a 9,000 pound travel trailer...

currently has 142,000 miles.. not one issue..

the 2011 did have issues with the transmissions.. I understanding is a program change . see a Ford dealer for it.

Fyi.. the diesel and gas 250/350 uses the same transmission.
so the transmission should take anything the 6.2 Gas can dish out.

I have a '12' with almost 97K miles. I don't tow with this one but carry maybe 750#+/- in it. Haven't had a problem with it at all. Another great truck from FORD.

Thanks for the response. I love the trucks and they can haul most of what we need at my work. Good to know you almost have 150k miles on it with no issues that really makes me consider buying one even more.

Every once in a while we need the 6.7 powerstroke dump trucks to pull the load.

my truck was a Fleet/Lease unit.

changed oil was between 4,000 and 6,000 miles... any filter at hand I guess
oil was 5w20.. not known brand. till I got it at 136,000 miles.

I am running Mobil 1 10w30. full synthetic and Motorcraft oil filter.

2 reasons for the 10w30..

1. the total miles and the work load I use it.
2. Ford for 2016 has changed the oil to 5w30... for the 6.2L

I've got 95k on my 11 350. Got it at 30k.
She's been used and abused by me, and the only issue I've had was the fuel vent, wouldn't let me fill the tank.
Other than that nothing. Tow daily, minimum 3k, this time of year close to 10k on a regular basis.
Winter I've got a 9ft v plow and 2 yd sander loaded up.
I change oil based off the oil life display or every 5k. Typically if it gets to below 70% oil life I change it. In the winter my truck my be running for over 20 hours at a time.
Use motorcraft 520 with motorcraft filter.

Bought the 2012 new and tomorrow will turn over 100K miles not a problem at all with the truck. Still has original brakes on it but it time to change them. The only thing I would do different is hold out for 4.30 gears like I had in the V10. Great truck.

Good to know the 6.2L holds up real well. I'm at 200 miles now and enjoying the heck of this truck!

Just came up on my 3 yr anniversary. We tow a boat to the Keys and Palm Beach regularly, 200-300 plus miles one way at approx 9k lbs
No issues, never been in the garage other than oil changes and rotations
Very easy ownership but as is everything in life there is a downside
She is a very thirsty girl always looking for a drink....
I do have a 4.30 rear end and a very heavy foot. Overall, I am very pleased.
