Most of you guys know we have some new stuff lately. And our shop just got a complete rehab (it actually is still closed due to epoxy n stuff).
But we have been having our machined parts welded to intakes. The IPR ones are nasty cast and are junk to weld,, so we are having our own machined out of billet so they weld good.
Well,, my Tig guys shop was a block from me,, so I was there 3-4 times a week. He was a huge race car guy. The jobs he had in his shop are street outlaws stuff. A serious perfectionist. He was doing a craigslist sale in a grocery store parking lot on Sunday night with his 10 yr old daughter in the truck,, and he ended up with a fatal gunshot wound and is no longer with us. It's a very sad time in grain valley.

I'm only putting this here because this forum is as close to Facebook as I get. Please pray for the family.

Sorry to hear about this.
I've had a situation that I believe was related to CL. So now we have a full security system, a camera for the driveway, and my wife will not let any eBay / CL sales or online acquaintance meetings be at home. She really freaked. I sell something local, it will be in a public lot.
Again, sorry to hear what happened to the man.

Anthony that sucks brother,
Thoughts and prayers with the family, hopefully his daughter came away unscathed.
I don't have a paypal account anymore it was hacked too many times and with it being linked to my business accounts its too much of a risk. If you wind up buying some of these I'll take some and pay you directly.
PM me if that's something that you can or would be willing to do.
Thanks,
Sarge

A similar situation happened to me a year back. Met in a parking lot (for reasons Jack stated) to buy an item. The item advertised was not the item presented to me in the parking lot and when I tried to walk away... he got very angry.
My daughter was in the truck, she had the doors locked and was ready to call 911 if needed. The man came at me with a chainsaw... his wife and children were in the car watching and they were desperate for money... you could see it when we pulled up. My daughter even said... Dad, this looks really bad, we should go, we were already next to them in the lot and I felt we couldn't turn back. I get out, he gets out, goes to the trunk and brings out a saw. I tell him that's not the advertised saw and turn to leave.. he comes at me.
I am a believer in the Second Amendment and am armed most always with a concealed, permitted weapon. He knew instantly that his aggressive behavior would not go unchallenged. It ended with a donation to help them out and we left with a saw. That was the last CL deal I did... scared my daughter pretty bad.
This is a sad post. Your friend sounds like he was a good man and My family will be saying a prayer for his family.

Randy, just in case you thought you were in good defense mode:
Girl witnesses father?s murder during Craigslist deal | NBC4i.com
Sounds like with your daughters instincts at good, so your dating worries should be less.
A couple of months ago our granddaughter got a call from her college housemates that at 7pm the electric company was there with two guys to collect for non-payment while see was at her swim meet. She started to yell at them to close the door and call the police. Door closed, no police. An hour later they got a university warning that students were reporting this behavior and the town police were warning not to open the door.
What used to scouting homes during open houses has now morphed into CL and other situations. We just need to be careful.

Anthony, I see the "In loving memory" graphic you can buy on that facebook link. But has the family or friends started a Go Fund Me account, if so would you be able to post the link here? Those work great, I would give to that. As I am sure others would too.
Thanks - Preston
