That is a FTE members truck, well at least that is a pic of his truck.

It is this guys truck https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/member.php?u=311196

I sent him a PM already. I also just called Miles Cory at 816-522-3477 to ask about HIS truck for sale. Went to voice mail, I am sure it is a April's fool joke.

Afternoon all. I swear the Department of Revenue is getting dumber by the day. Am I the only one who didn't know that if you buy a car for less than Kelley Blue Book value, you have to have a notarized bill of sale or you will be charged sales tax on the Blue Book value for a "fair" version? Fortunately I was able to catch the previous owner and meet him at the bank to get that done. Unfortunately it wasn't soon enough to catch the license office still open. I'll take a little time off Monday and do the paperwork in the Licking office.

I didn't know that. I'm guessing they were loosing a ton of money from people making false receipts. Not that I blame them. Paying 8-9% sales tax on car is a rip off in my book.

It darn sure doesn't go for road repairs or education.

Yeah - too many people claiming they paid $1 for a $50,000 truck. I don't mind paying the sales tax since those taxes pay my salary.

dave they have been doing that for a long time.. not always but just on suspicious claims.. that is why i started putting at least 400.00 for buying price of any thing i try to get a title for, even if i only gave 100.00 dollars for it.. it is better than taking a chance on it getting flagged at jeff city..

dave i dont mind paying taxes on things either.. but i think they should set a flat tax on used cars or something like that.. they have already made the tax money when the car was bought new.. i think its unfair to tax at the same rate each time they are re-sold.. but if life was fair..what would we have to complain about..

I certainly feel that private transactions should be handled differently than business transactions, but how that should work I really don't know and don't want to be the one who has to figure it out.

I'm up (sort of) and getting ready to figure out what my day is going to look like. I've got a project in my shop I need to get out so I can have some room again to work on the camper. I need to get the front of the Neon up in the air and check for worn parts in the front end and begin a list of parts to get ordered. Finally, I think the wife found a couple of yard sales she wants to go to. Since that's one of the things we've been doing together for the last 24 years, it's going to happen for sure. As for the rest, it'll get done one way or the other.

I want in on this conversation.
I did finally get a North Carolina title, after 10 or 12 weeks of crap. I had to have two written appraisals in order to get the bond for the title. Yeah.
Now, one appraisal is for $4500, and the second is for $5400 (for Ka'Bluey). My bond naturally is for the higher amount. And, the way I read the paperwork, when I pay property tax in a year to renew the tags, I'll have to pay tax's on $5400, and we didn't even pay half that much for him.

Here ya go Rich!

trade early bronco for newer suburban (Pittsboro)

1974 Ford Bronco to trade for 2000+ suburban, tahoe or yukon. Must be 4x4, cloth seats with 3rd row. (I know I am picky.)

Has rear cut fenders and diamond plate on the rockers. Otherwise stock.
302 / 3 speed manual column shift
Runs and drives, 4wd works
original seats need recovering
no major rust, but it needs more attention than I have time for right now

good morning missouri... looks like a fine day..
dave if they would give me a "pen and paper" and the power.. i would write some new tax laws that would be fair to both the governing party and the governed.... my tax code would only be about 1 page, not 15,000.. let the government receive enough taxes to operate just the bare minimum of what the voters agree they need the government to do for them.. and thats all!!!.. ALL tax payers will pay the same rate.. period!!!!!

pushing the soap box back under the bench, and going back to work..

After a fairly busy day, the boys' Eagle Scout Project is loaded up on the trailer ready to be taken to the VFW and assembled tomorrow. Once put together, then its paint and we're done.

I managed to get the front of the Jesse's car up in the air. I'll pull the tires of and get my pry bar out and check the ball joints. They look to have been replaced once with one with grease perks, but it sure doesn't look like anyone has ever greased them. I'm also betting that the struts are OEM as well. Poor car hasn't been shown any attention for way too long.

Just back from a overnighter at Sarcoxie for the their city wide yard sale, I took a trailer load of stuff, came back with a lot less and more $ than I went down there with.

Glad I had my trailer spare, I have a side wall on a fairly new tire give out 15 min from the house...

Maybe off to KC tomorrow to ck in with my mom?

Evening folks.
